Cancele

Cancele Senior Secondary School is in the heart of the Eastern Cape in the village of Cancele in the Town of Mount Frere. The school boasts about it surrounding with rivers, fountains and moutains of which it is in the center. Entering the vicinity of Cancele, you are welcomed by natures fresh breeze of air and birds with melodious sounds. Cancele is a Seventh Day Adventist institution.

What sets Cancele apart is the triangle of H (Head, Heart and Hand). This triangle is the foundation of our education which aims to train all spheres of a student. This is translated into Academic, Religious and Physical work. Our student are trained to tackle life in all spheres and are taught to be responsible. At the core of Cancele's education is GOD. We are a Christian institution and that insight is imparted through to our students and is upheld by our staff

The school was founded in 1920, with a host of successful students. We boast of some of the best outputs in Music, Wood work, Christian education, Science, Mathematics, Animal breeding, Agriculture, Brick Laying, Bricks manufacturing, Rock art, Drawing amongst others through the years. Our portfolio is growing to include technology in the form of Computer literacy, Engineering, Technical studies and it is reviewed from year to year to stay abreast.

The school caters for Primary up to Matric (Grade 12/Standard 10/Matric). Our teachers are passionate about their work and the system is interactive. The support system for the school also comes from the former students, staff, and largely the Seventh Day Adentist churches around the world. It is a continous system of learning which embraces students in their individual capabilities and igniting them to be the best towards their GOD given talents and inclinations.

Health and Temperance is crucial to Cancele and to such the school follows a vegiterian diet and also supported by produce from the soil. Our students get to be taught how to work the soil. They are also taught how to prepare a variety of vegiterian meals.

Cancele is a socially responsible institution. It serves the community around and surrounding the Cancele village. It provides the link to the Post Office and it extends literacy to the community at large. Social responsibility is instilled into students by practice and they get to participate in the school's outreach programmes.
